Hardly. I've watched your edits. You're a pretty detail oriented cat. Thanks for the hard work (especially with regards to the TOS stuff). --[[User:Steelviper|Steelviper]] 20:08, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki![edit]

Welcome to the Wiki, Fredmdbud. Tell us about yourself on your user page. We have a template that lets you put some information about yourself in a nice-looking box.

Battlestar Wiki is an encyclopedia on officially-licensed stories, aired episodes, and other products of the Battlestar universes. Make sure that your contributions fit Battlestar Wiki's purpose, avoiding what we aren't.

Our editing standards and conventions policies may differ from other wikis, especially in verb tense and voice, capitalization and the like. Please read this policy. We have an editing tutorial and wiki markup codes to help you.

Our policies on original research differ from places such as Wikipedia. We allow some research based on aired episode content, but don't allow speculation that isn't supported from episode events. Battlestar Wiki does not allow fan fiction articles.

Battlestar Wiki's many projects help improve our content. Are you an Original Series fan? Help out in the Original Series Article Project. Non-English versions of Battlestar Wiki also need contributors, and helpers for our podcast transcriptions are also welcome. New projects should be brought to our Think Tank, where we hash out large-scale ideas before implementing them.

Any questions about an article can be entered on the article's talk page. General questions about the wiki can be brought to the Quorum or the administrators' noticeboard. To sign your posts on any talk page, just enter four tildes (~~~~)!

We look forward to your contributions to the community! --Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 08:14, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Datastream / water[edit]

The dialogue is as follows:
Sharon: "Okay, I'm going to try to call up the database. If I get a connection, put the SSR leads in the water over there."

So it is water and not just a general fluid. The whole footnote doesn't make sense if we just call it "a fluid". --Serenity 19:45, 13 August 2007 (CDT)

Grammar edits to Nugget[edit]

Just so you know:

  • "Who" and "that" are both allowed for referring to persons. For objects, "which" and "that" are allowed (making "that" 'go both ways')
Though that can be acceptable in colloquial spoken English, we were taught in middle- and high-school composition to keep the distinction [1] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fredmdbud (talk • contribs).
  • "Their" is not just plural, but can also be used as a gender-neutral alternative to "his" or "her".

--Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 06:56, 3 October 2007 (CDT)

Technically incorrect but still commonly used (similar to "irregardless") ... but is the possessive really needed in the sentence? It's usually not used in similar phrasing: The soldier completed basic training. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fredmdbud (talk • contribs).
Weird, we were taught that 'that' goes both ways... but then I'm in the Netherlands. On a side note, please sign your posts with --~~~~ (two dashes and four tildes), which will expand to your username and a timestamp. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:17, 3 October 2007 (CDT)

BS vs BSG[edit]

Hi there. Just noticed your edits to Galactica (RDM) and Pegasus (RDM). Just to let you know, the prefix BS is the hull number for the battlestars in question. BSG is an acronym for Battlestar Group. I know it's a bit off-putting, particularly since both battlestars share the same number as their hull number. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 18:51, 16 October 2007 (CDT)

So what would be the appropriate prefix, BS or BG? From your notes in the history log, the landing bay plate reads "BG", but the article refers to "BS". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fredmdbud (talk • contribs).
The appropriate prefix is "BS", the way it was before in the article. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 19:08, 16 October 2007 (CDT)

Correct[edit]

We already have a switch indicating the character itself is a FF Cylon. I doubt this is a role of the character. Shane (talk) 01:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
