Any ideas

See header. --Steelviper 15:02, 7 March 2008 (CST)

We could try Lee Adama, since it's one of the best character articles IMO. While it still retells a lot of plot, it does attempt to note his motivations, character traits and growth. And it also focuses on smaller things that are important for him. Other ideas would be some previous nominees likes Virtual beings or Weapons in the Re-imagined Series.

A general comment: A suggestion I've received through the survey is to avoid doing obvious articles as "Featured Articles", and try some unconventional articles that still qualify. Tom Zarek and most of the other articles we've had in the past are, for all intents and purposes, very conventional and safe articles. They're obvious choices... And most people know about them anyway...

I think it would be best to spice up our choices a bit. Try something different. Maybe something like Unnamed characters (1980), Starbuck's Poem, Norman Blore, The Colonial Gang... something that is unconventional. Thoughts? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 15:25, 7 March 2008 (CST)

True. Maybe it would be better to use the Quality Article "award" a lot more to mark really good articles. Instead of using the best ones for FAs. Starbuck's Poem is nice and not something we would have chosen in the past, because it's so short. -- Serenity 15:42, 7 March 2008 (CST)

So, any ideas? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 19:27, 12 March 2008 (CDT)

Well, Shane has already slapped the candidate tag on on "Colonial Gang" and as said "Starbuck's Poem" might not be a bad choice for unusualness, though it's very short. Maybe Memorial hallway? It's an integral concept of the show, but doesn't have that many views. -- Serenity 19:52, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
I would like to see the Memorial hallway featured as well. :) -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 20:10, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
Done. So do we now vote on those 3, or just but them up over the next three months? -- Serenity 20:28, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
Let's go for those three. I'm all for the Hallway first. Good one in light of the upcoming month. --Spencerian 18:06, 13 March 2008 (CDT)
I concur. -- FrankieG 19:19, 13 March 2008 (CDT)
Hallway is not bad also. Support :) Shane (T - C - E) 12:42, 14 March 2008 (CDT)

Uh, can we please change the FA before we all get a new birthday? Looks like we have a consensue and future procedure. --Spencerian 16:10, 23 March 2008 (CDT)

Speaking of which, we should look at simplifying the FA and FP update process. It's currently a pretty arduous and tedious task, and has generally been left to me (though you don't need any special privs to do it). I think we'd get more speedy featured content updates if it was easy enough that anybody could go ahead and do it. --Steelviper 17:05, 23 March 2008 (CDT)
Agreed. Weren't we talking about some automated system that could do this automatically for selected quality articles or articles we can mark as future articles? We'd only have to unmark an article so it does not display again or use some time/date stamping whatzis. --Spencerian 17:20, 24 March 2008 (CDT)
Norman Blore seems to be a pretty good FA choice. For an 1980 it's very well detailed. :D Shane (talk) 01:58, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Featured Article for May

Ok, I was thinking the featured article for May would be one of the following more obscure articles:

We just need to narrow it down a bit more. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 04:57, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

The Destiny obscure? That stuff is all anyone talks about these days. The poem would be good. Also Starbuck related, but better. -- Serenity 09:14, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Our article on it only gets roughly 20,000 hits. In comparison, the Final Five article gets almost 200,000 hits. However, I would really like "Starbuck's Poem" to be May's FA, since it is a very good article and worthy of attention; it only has approx. 2,300 hits. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 16:50, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
So is April going to be Colonial Gang? --Steelviper 14:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
