Welcome to Battlestar Wiki![edit]

Greetings, Dbaylis33, and welcome to Battlestar Wiki! I hope you enjoy your stay with us and am looking forward to your contributions to the Wiki! Why not begin by telling us a bit about yourself on your own user page?

As you may already know, Battlestar Wiki covers all the Battlestar Galactica series from past to present, in addition to authorized merchandise. Presently, we don't cover fan fiction, but our sister-site, Battlestar Pegasus, does so. We're also not a discussion site, although we do have an ever-growing Battlestar Forum where people can discuss the various shows and non-BSG topics as well!

To get started on the wiki, we suggest that you check out our tutorial, experiment in the sandbox (a test editing area for those learning wiki code), and review some of our basic policies (which have important differences from other SF wikis).

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, you are more than welcome to bring them up at the Chiefs' noticeboard (which is frequented by the administrators of the Wiki) and at the Galactipedians' Quorum (which is the hub for contributors, who are called "Galactipedians").

Furthermore, if you don't wish to see the ads, then please consider upgrading your account to a paid membership, which costs only $10 USD a year and helps support the wiki financially. Becoming a member also entitles you to our raffle, where you can win gift cards, merchandise, and other prizes! We think this is ver cool, and we hope you do as well!

Thank you for joining us! Hope to see you soon! --Spencerian 17:47, 18 March 2008 (CDT)

Recent rollback[edit]

Hi, there. We needed to rollback your edits to Laser generator since the revised content was already part of the article, Laser pump. There's quite a few articles on Battlestar Wiki and its easy to get confused. It's important, to help you, to avoid copying information from other wikis (which have likely already copied content from Battlestar Wiki itself). Watching the episodes is often the best sources of information. Be sure to read up on getting around on the wiki in the links in the welcome message, and don't let our revert take away from the fun! --Spencerian 18:08, 18 March 2008 (CDT)

Also, there was some discussion to merge these two articles, because they are indeed pretty similar, but ultimately we went with cross-referencing them in the Notes section. That way they are together. And if they were merged properly, writing something like "From Battlestar Wiki, the free, open content Battlestar Galactica encyclopedia and episode guide" is unnecessary. We are on BS Wiki after all, and don't need to source ourself like that. Rather the new article would be written like it was always just one. -- Serenity 18:13, 18 March 2008 (CDT)
