Discussion page of Skirmish Over the Red Moon/Archive 1

I've decided that anything where a Viper gets destroyed deserves a page, so we can keep track of ships (although this won't keep track of mechanical failure). Granted, the Battle of Kobol does NOT have a single Viper get destroyed, but it was a major engagement (plus Raptors were destroyed). So the Colonials shooting down a single Raider in "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down" doesn't really need a page, nor does "Final Cut" because just 2 Raiders were destroyed with no loses. I felt this was a good page to have because it resulted in a Viper destroyed, (1 also damaged but later recovered and repaired), and the capture of a Cylon Raider by the Galactica, a major military asset. ---Ricimer, 17 Sept, 2005.

Really, anything that results in deaths probably ought to get noted - which would mean we should have pages for the Gideon Massacre (Resistance) and Skirmish on the High Road (Home, Part I). --April Arcus 12:08, 17 September 2005 (EDT)
Actually no; It's covering military engagements and only 4 people were lost there. It wasn't a real fight between both sides, and it would really be redundant because Gideon covers taht. As for Skirmish on the High Road, that information is already covered under Battle of Kobol. ---Ricimer, 17 Sept, 2005
  • We shouldn't have the battle pages put into the past tense like Spencerian did; I think it makes it harder to read. --Ricimer 15:44, 14 November 2005 (EST)
Ricimer, see the Verb Tense convention of the Standards and Conventions page for rationale to my changes here and on many character pages. At first I balked at this, too, but it actually aids us in having to make fewer changes on character and event pages as new events occur since a character is always an active mode object and not a passive mode--from a person watching the show, the character is doing the event (Peter phrased this point better in the conventions project discussion). Note that some things are really awkward to change, such as describing a past event in this mode, in which case you keep a past-tense voice. Again, this is what we all agreed to do by consensus per the project page. --Spencerian 16:38, 14 November 2005 (EST)

Quig's changing of the picture

This is mutiny Mr. Quig! I’ll see you swing from the highest yardarm in Titan docking port for this days work! --Ricimer 10:35, 20 November 2005 (EST)

Aw, c'mon. It looks good. --April Arcus 13:41, 20 November 2005 (EST)
(It's a Red Dwarf quote: I thought it funny that both were named Quig [well, Queeg actually]). --Ricimer 14:11, 20 November 2005 (EST)
