I'm not sure if this should be deleted or expanded into a proper article. What are other peoples' thoughts? --Peter Farago 01:37, 19 March 2006 (CST)

Any references to SciFi should be just links to Wikipedia's article. --The Merovingian 01:43, 19 March 2006 (CST)
My impulse is to agree, but I want to point out that we have our own articles for prominent actors and producers. What should our criteria be for this sort of thing? --Peter Farago 02:59, 19 March 2006 (CST)
Yeah. It was stupid and an implus creation. :) --Shane (C - E) 10:23, 19 March 2006 (CST)

Network Article Updates

We should probably have a NBC Universal article and ABC Television article to source back to any first-airings of the various series. I've updated this one with the good bad and ugly of the Sci Fi Channel. (Wrestling!? Psychics!?) --Spencerian 08:40, 6 February 2007 (CST)

If we're gonna do it right then lets do it all. I feel we should keep people on the wiki for as much as possible rather than sending people away to wikipedia unnecceserily. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:02, 6 February 2007 (CST)
We should also get the bot this weekend to find any external wikipedia links and change em over too. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:04, 6 February 2007 (CST)
I agree. We're going to add more Battlestar specific information on our pages anyway. --Spencerian 10:06, 6 February 2007 (CST)

Battlestar Galactica (TOS) and Galactica 1980?

Are these still on the air? Since it seems they are no longer on the list of on-air shows: DrWho42 22:11, 22 April 2007 (CDT)

The Original Series is being shown currently on the ION Television cable network (formerly "PAX"). Galactica 1980, with only 10 episodes, is occasionally shown on the Sci Fi Channel, but this isn't on any consistent schedule and appears essentionally when they feel like it. For better or worse, 1980 is not available on DVD, although TOS is. --Spencerian 22:18, 22 April 2007 (CDT)
I'm still considering that there's good posibility that the channel no longer airs the shows...
Part of the reason could be that they don't want viewers to confuse things with the new series, or they have given air rights to others and have little reason to play them. So, yes, it seems that getting 1980 will be almost impossible, and TOS can be received on ION or DVD only. --Spencerian 08:02, 23 April 2007 (CDT)

Here's some weird news. Being a Dish Network Subscriber, I just found out the Tricia Helfer will be a guest of Dish Network's CEO Charlie Ergen monthly "Charley Chat" tomorrow night Monday, March 10 at 9PM. Along with a few other sources, this leads me to believe that this visit is for the announcement that SciFi HD will be added to Dish Network's lineup. Season 4 in HD, nice! -- FrankieG 16:42, 9 March 2008 (CDT)

Other Sci Fi Channels

As Wikipedia's disambiguation page of Sci Fi Channel shows, there is more than one copy... Do we include the others as separate articles (as Wikipedia does)?--DrWho42 16:56, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

You mean the international versions? Those just carry the SciFi channel name, but are completely independent from the US SciFi Channel. They don't get special dips on SciFi productions for example and have to compete for the rights with other channels. As such they're not noteworthy for BSWiki. -- Serenity 17:05, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
