Delphi-class FTL engine

Delphi-class FTL engines are a type of engine technology that made use of FTL principles in order to bring about interstellar travel. This technology was developed by the Caprican government in the years prior to the Cylon War with the translocation field output of them being rated at 8.6 Tachyon Units which effectively allowed them to carry a tonnage of upto approximately sixty thousand tonnes.

At least two Delphi-class engines were stolen by the Sagittaron government after a lightning strike at the Akins Transluminal Orbital Manufacturing Facility. They later used this to ambush Caprican Battle Group Theta under the command of Ben Tanner who was sent to aid the Scorpia government. The Sagittaron forces intended to steal the Scorpian Exploratory-Colony Ships at the Exo Shipyards but failed due to the Caprican forces. (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War 2)
